DeafBlind Consumer Directed Services (DBCDS) and Technology Training Access Program (TTAP)

Deaf-Blind Consumer Directed Services (DBCDS)The DeafBlind program is a grant funded by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Division. The grant is a Minnesota statewide program, serving adults and families with children with combined hearing and/or vision loss under the DeafBlind Consumer Directed Services (DBCDS) Program and the Technology Training Access Program (TTAP).

DBCDS provides an ongoing, annual allocation amount to adults and children who have a combined hearing and vision loss, to purchase goods or services they need to maintain their independence, integrate into their families or communities and/or develop communication skills.

TTAP provides equipment, training, or access to relevant conferences or workshops to help children and adults with deafblindness maintain or increase their independence and participation in the community.

A New Direction serves as the Financial Management Services (FMS) and functions as a payroll agent, employer of record, purchaser of goods, and other administrative services for these individuals and families.
