EVV (Electronic Visit Verification)
The State of MN and Department of Human Services will soon require all agencies that provide direct care services to make the transition to EVV (Electronic Visit Verification). This requirement originates from the Cures Act that was federally mandated.
Consumer Directions is excited to be partnering with Cashé EVV software to capture electronic timesheets instead of using paper timesheets to clock in and out. This software can be used on a desktop computer, tablet, or smartphone.

What is EVV?
“EVV” stands for Electronic Visit Verification. EVV is a way to record the date, time, and place workers provide services. The EVV requirement was included in the 21st Century Cures Act that passed at the end of 2016. It mandates that states implement EVV for all Medicaid personal care services (PCS) and home health services (HHCS) that require an in-home visit by a provider and support Activities of Daily Living, like bathing and dressing, or Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, like meal preparation, managing money, taking medication or shopping.
What do they mean by "Electronic"?
When talking about EVV, “electronic” means using an electronic device to record the date, time, and place a worker provides services. The most common devices are cell phones, tablets, and computers.
What do they mean by "Verification"?
When talking about EVV, “verification” means using technology to prove that both the client and the provider are at the same place at the same time. This verification only needs to happen when the provider starts each shift and ends each shift.
Will the government track where I am?
The EVV system should only collect your location at the start and end of each worker's shift. EVV should not limit where you can receive your service.

EVV systems are designed to protect your privacy. Your information will be kept private and safe by the same laws that protect your medical information.
